Who has secretly loved the W210 AMG.
I used to love this model growing up, had a 1/64 W208 cabrio and W210 sedan as well as a 1/18 W208 (which I still have).
I can only assume they suffer the same reliability issues as normal benzes and it might be hard to find a good clean one these days, but part of me wants to just blow an exorbitant amount of cash one purchasing and maintaining one.

I like them too, they’re understated, comfortable, and fast enough.

Not a huge fan of the styling, looked very dated from the second they came out IMO.

W211 was more my thing.
Crushing 350Zs and towing mowers while having your butt massaged. Life can be good.

I check the current rate for these at least 5 times a month.

Some random calculator I found (can’t find any sales) says $6k to $10k. Is that right?

my first car was a w210! at that point i wanted to get into modifying cars so bad, and it really isn’t a good platform for a kid without a ton of resources lol. it was white which is not a good color for the w210.. and a diesel. i’ll be honest though, with how mechanical the fuel system was, i was able to get some fun out of it. i coulld flip a few switched i had rigged under the dashboard and all of a sudden... it pulled pretty hard! and left countless people amazed and confused at intersections i’m sure... black smoke spewing out of a white ugly w210.... and it moving kinda quick lol. fantastic cars though, road trips were awesome. it really is like a living room on wheels.

Not secretly, I had one for 7 years:
Very good car - not low maintenance, but generally reliable, and a lot less to go wrong than later models. Really hard to find a minty one anymore, especially a high option car. Mine was tectite grey, which is quite uncommon.

I like them. I’m on my second one. V6 wagon and currently V8 sedan. Planning on getting an E55 version at some point, just need to get some cash together and find the right one.

That’s about right for an AMG variant. Standard ones can usually be found for $2k-5k.

Wow, that looks clean. I don’t even think I’ve seen this color before, I usually only see them in silver or black. What made you get rid of it?

I figured since there was an W211 E63 AMG wagon and W210 wagons are actually a pretty common site around Cincinnati (just not AMG) so I’d guess they sold well enough to make a wagon version. That still makes me HNNNGGG! My neighbors had a fully loaded tan on tan W210 non AMG but was still top of the line. They bought it brand new t00 (I remember drooling over it every time it was around)

It had been awhile, I was to the point where I needed to cut the cord or I’d get too attached and would never sell it. I already have one forever car, I shouldn’t hoard. These cars also are known for rust, and there was an area of a wheelarch that seemed iffy inside. I got a decent price for it and shouldn’t regret it.
